The use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Continuum Mechanics (CCM) for analysis rotary positive displacement machines is exponentially increasing which was mostly allowed by the development methods generating numerical grids complex domains within machines. However there are several challenges with commercial CFD/CCM codes preventing generic CFD. These conservativeness spatial discretisation caused inappropriate grid generation, instabilities dissipations misalignments application equations speed accuracy multiphase models used in CFD
